An original knit design, featured in the autumn issue of Pom Pom Quarterly.

There are so many fabulous things about the autumn issue of Pom Pom Quarterly.

  1. It’s dedicated to wool.
  2. There are unisex designs.
  3. A bigger issue – 16 more pages of Pom Pom goodness.
  4. My pattern is one of the featured designs!

Pianissimo scarf designed by Thien-Kieu Lam

The Pianissimo Scarf is my official debut as a hand-knit designer, and I am over the moon to have it published by Pom Pom Quarterly. The magazine is lovingly and beautifully produced and a joy to peruse and savor. I can’t wait to hold a print copy in my hands!

I was also thrilled to work with Baa Ram Ewe’s brand new yarn Dovestone DK. It’s a blend of Bluefaced Leicester, Wensleydale Longwool, and Masham fibers. I love wool and am always excited to work with yarn from different breeds. BFL is a favorite of mine, and the Wensleydale and Masham are new to me. The long fibers create a durable fabric, and the sumptuous sheen adds a touch of luxury. Dovestone would be great for garments as well as accessories.

Publishing a design was one of my goals this year, and now it is a reality. I hope  you enjoy knitting and wearing Pianissimo. And make sure you check out all the designs in The Wool Issue of Pom Pom Quarterly – it’s a lovely collection!
